Steering Committee Meeting Minutes

November 30, 2000

Meeting began 2:30.

I.Self-Study Manual

Morris distributed copies of the Houston Community College Self-Study Manual provided by Dr. Wilkinson as a prototype and copies of the Victoria College Self-Study Manual used for the last self-study.

Morris stated that Dr. Wilkinson would be sending a prototype self-study for the committee's use. Morris said that South Texas Community College had put their self-study and supporting documents on their web site. 

January 11, 2001 was designated as an all day work session for beginning to draft the self-study plan/ manual. The work session will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will end at 3:00 p.m.Steering Committee members will be notified at a later date the location of the work session.

II.Principal Committee Membership

Steering Committee members began the selection process of faculty and staff to serve on their principal committee.Lists are not final and will be updated at a later date.

Discussion centered on the need for principal committee subcommittees and subcommittee chairs.Morris stated that she would recommend that each individual steering committee member determine the organizational structure he or she felt would be the most effective and efficient in accomplishing the principal committee's goals.Steering Committee members indicated their satisfaction with this recommendation.
