Call to Order: Hummel called the meeting to order at 1:37 p.m.
Minutes: Approval of the minutes of April 18, 2002 will be made on May 2nd. Hummel noted that the minutes reflect primarily the changes the Steering Committee makes in Recommendations and Suggestions submitted by Principal Committees. He also has asked Boyd to maintain a cumulative chart of changes.
Review Editing Problems and Decisions: Clarification was made for saving
drafts. The Chairs will save the
initial draft in the draft folder with a date.
The Halls will review the draft, highlight changes, and save over the
original file. The Chair will then
review the file and accept/deny changes and save that draft with a new date for
review by all.
Halls stated all need to be sure works cited in the narrative correspond to works that are referenced and that all sources mentioned in the narrative be included in works cited. Although using personal names and pronouns in the narrative was originally not permitted, the Committee now agrees to leave those decisions to the Chairs.
