Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (CB) data:  Victoria College, and all Texas Public Community and Technical Colleges and Universities

All Texas public higher education institutions report student level data to the CB. This results in the CB being a very good resource for: student migration, tracking, transfer, graduation, and placement data; and for comparative benchmark data amongst all Texas public community and technical colleges (CTCs) and universities.

    Institutional Effectiveness:
  • "Annual Data Profile" - Contains college aggregate and program specific credit and continuing education enrollment, retention, remediation and persistence, graduation, placement, transfer success by gender, ethnicity, special populations, full/part-time status.
  • "Automated Student and Adult Learner Follow-up Survey (ASALFS) Reports" Tracks TX public CTC graduates and non-returners from an academic year to the subsequent fall semester looking for employment and/or additional education by CIP. State-level electronic matching of CB CTC and university student records and TX Workforce Commission Unemployment Insurance wage records.
  • "College Profiles" - One page profile for each community and technical college in Texas including enrollment, faculty, fiscal, program, and graduation data.
  • "Program Profiles" - Uses data from various "Annual Data Profile" reports to give an overall look at each workforce program at an institution. Good resource for comparing program outcomes with other CTCs.
  • "Statewide Fact Book" - A comprehensive publication containing CTC specific and state aggregate student enrollment and various outcomes. Good resource for institution comparisons.
  • "Student Migration Report" - One page migration report for each CTC in Texas. Where do CTC students go (migrate)? It compares fall enrollment for each public CTC in Texas to the following year fall enrollment reports for all institutions. Tracks graduates and non graduates by academic and technical majors, by gender and ethnicity to "Same Inst", "Other Jr", "Other Sr", "Concurrent Enrollment" and Can Not Locate" categories.
  •
Data Resources for Perkins Grants (focus on workforce programs):
  • Data Resources for Perkins Measures and Standards - District-Level Measures in PDF - All CTCs and statewide summaries of: Completion/transfer rates of full/part-time students, access to technical programs, remediation and retention, and course completion by gender, ethnicity, special populations groups.
  • Data Resources for Perkins Measures and Standards - Program-Level Measures in PDF - All CTCs program-level: numbers of graduates (3 years) and 3 year employment and outcomes rates.
  •
    Also of interest:
  • "Statewide Licensure Report" in PDF - Statewide allied health, law enforcement, and other licensure pass rates by institution and by licensure exam.
  • "THECB Statistical Report 2000" - Comprehensive institution specific report with data for all Texas public universities and CTCs including: headcount trends and characteristics, credit & contact hours, retention, transfer, graduates by gender and ethnicity, faculty and governing board data, higher ed. appropriations, and student financial aid. Three years online and hard copies from 1989 in IRP office.
  • Data Resources for LBB Performance Measures- All CTCs and statewide summaries of: percentage of course completers, number of students who transfer to a university, percentage of remedial students who pass TASP, percentage of students who pass a licensure exam, and numbers of degrees and certificates awarded. LBB (Legislative Budget Board.)
  • "Statewide Baccalaureate Graduation Rates" - (Aggregate level data only.) The graduation rate reflects both students who graduate from the institution in which they first enroll and students who transfer and graduate from another TX public university. The percentage of first-time, full-time students who earn baccalaureate degrees within six years of enrolling at a higher ed. institution. For TX public higher ed. institutions, the CB compiled these figures for the past seven six-year periods, beginning with the cohort of first-time, full-time students who entered a public college or university in TX in 1985. Students are tracked as long as they are enrolled in a TX public higher ed. institution.
  • "Report on Retention and Graduation" - (Aggregate level data only.) This report focuses on what can be done to increase the number of students who successfully complete baccalaureate degrees. CB and TEA databases were used to identify patterns and information relating to the characteristics of students who leave college before graduating and what might contribute to this decision.
