Below are various links grouped according to subject/organization. We will add links periodically, so be sure to check this page again in the future. Likewise, if you know of a school, organization, entity, or web site/web page to which you think we should provide a link, let us know. Please keep in mind that many of the sites listed below are a springboard to even more web links that are education, community college, or IR related, so if you have a penchant for web surfing, this is a good place to start.

To learn more about colleges and universities in the immediate South Texas area, check out the STCIR web page (South Texas Consortium for Institutional Research), maintained by Victoria College's IRP department. The following Coordinating Board reports contain very good college-level and program-level comparisons for all Community and Technical Colleges in Texas.
NOTE: For those documents designated as PDF, you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view them (in some cases, version 4.0 or 5.0). If you don't have the reader, or if you have an older version that is insufficient to view the files, you can download the latest version of the Reader FREE by clicking here.

The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) has a wealth of information on its web site. Below are selected web pages of particular interest:
Here are other state, regional, or national web sites devoted to higher education information:
The California State University System web site "Learning Outcomes for Sample Campus Academic Degree Programs" is also worth bookmarking and visiting. This is a good source of course objectives/assessment ideas for all of our general education academic subject areas.
An example closer to home is at Southwest Texas State University. See how they use the web to document academic assessment activities and read their success stories> SWT Academic Assessment.
The Texas A&M University System's "The Integrative Plan - Promise for a New Century"is an excellent example of a higher education strategic plan.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a rather large PDF file and you must have Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0 or 5.0 in order to read it.
