In addition, a night Academy is also offered, and takes approximately 9 months to complete. Our night academy typically begins in the Fall semester.

While enrolled in the Academy, students learn the 30 topics essential to today's modern police officer. These topics will be covered through extensive classroom lectures and hands-on experiences. Some of the exciting topics explored in classroom instruction include:
- History of Policing
- Ethics
- U.S. and Texas Constitution and Bill of Rights
- Criminal Justice System
- Code of Criminal Procedure
- Arrest, Search and Seizure
- Penal Code
- Traffic
- Texas Alcohol Beverage Code
- Use of Force
- Civil Process and Liability
- Texas Alcohol Beverage Code
- and many others
All students in the Academy will also participate in driving exercises designed to improved pursuit skills, firing range shooting drills, and search and seizure activities.
Upon completion of a respective course of study, the student will be eligible to take the appropriate Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) examination to become a licensed peace officer or reserve officer in the State of Texas.
