BASEBALL HISTORY
One of
my favorite pastimes is baseball history, especially baseball during the Jim
Crow era.
Baseball in Victoria, Texas.
Nothing fancy, but here are some great baseball photos of the Victoria
Eagles. Thanks to Frank Ortiz for
allowing me to scan and post.

You’ll
find photos of the Eagles and other Mexican-American teams at the Port Lavaca Old-Timers
Baseball Association.
Dr.
C.A. Dudley organized the Aces to play at Carver Center after 1949. Unfortunately, the quality of these
photos leaves much to be desired.

Baseball Sites of General Interest
The Negro Leagues Professional Baseball.
This is an excellent starting point when looking for information on the Negro
Leagues.
Negro Baseball Leagues. Another good
site when looking for information on the Negro Leagues.
National Baseball Hall of Fame. This is the
official web site of the Baseball Hall of Fame in
Total Baseball. I think the title says
it all.

FAMILY
HISTORY
Family
history is one of my favorite pastimes, but unfortunately I find that it
consumes more time than I usually have. As a historian, my interests are
not in discovering the breadth of the family tree; rather, I am interested in
learning more about my family within the historical context of the past.
